Audit Associate – Mandarin & English

Position Overview

PKF Antares is looking for an Audit Associate to join our Calgary Office. You will provide support to coordinate and review audit projects, collaborate with the preparation of reports, help with daily operations. We rely on your enthusiasm and desire to help our clients comply with the regulatory requirements. You, in turn, will get a chance to work in a united and dedicated team of professionals, learn from the exposure to North American engagement, and develop your skills and interests further.

Relevant Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of accounting or audit experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin (reading, writing, and speaking) is required due to regular interaction with clients and supporting documentation in China. Cantonese language skills are considered a strong asset.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with CaseWare. Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar applications is an asset.
  • Currently pursuing, or interested in pursuing, the CPA designation.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Eligible to work in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Assist with audit engagements and financial statement preparation.
  • Perform audit testing, reconciliations, and documentation.
  • Prepare working papers and supporting schedules.
  • Communicate with clients and respond to audit-related requests.
  • Provide support to other team members when required.
  • Participate in audit engagements involving clients based in China and Hong Kong. Occasional International Travel may be required.
  • Follow professional accounting and auditing standards.

Additional Assets

  • Preference will be given to candidates with Big 4 experience or top performing new grads
  • IFRS and USGAAP knowledge
